| Well, it has been a little while since the last update. Life has been crazy hectic, but good. Wedding planning seems to be taking up just about all my time, but I am loving it. There is three months to go! I finally broke out at work and told my employees (which is just a handful) today. I am so excited! The celebration is going to be great fun, but I have even more joy thinking that I will be able to spend more time with and enjoy the one who has held my heart for so many years. It is so crazy to think seven years ago two brace-face high school students that were dating and had no idea what life would bring them or what to expect out would end up tying the knot. I am so thrilled (if you couldn't tell) to know that it will soon be here, September 1, seems as though it is just around the corner. ~Soon to be "Mrs. Bennett" | | |
| As many of your may know I started a new job, I am no longer running experiments on insects in a lab, now I am out in the field enforcing the sanitary laws of Massachusetts. I am a sanitarian for the Watertown Public Health Department. I am a public health inspector. I have found that no one day is like the previous day, it has been fun and challenging. And I am so thankful to God that I feel as though I am making a more pro-active approach to helping people and the environment. This new position has been great and especially an incredibly big learning experience. | | |
| So I had jury duty today, it really wasn't bad, I just had to sit in a room with a whole bunch of strangers and wait around for about 3 hours. I waited and waited, but did not get called. Then suddenly around noon the jurors who did not have to serve were allowed to leave. The funny thing is the guard who helped me when I had car troubles last time recognized me today. That was about a month or two ago. I was hoping he would forget and I could just scoot right by him without getting asked out for coffee again. But no, the guard recognized me and asked about my car. I told him a I got a new one, he was impressed and said something along the lines of taking a ride in it. I kindly said no and flashed my riing a few times for him to get the hint I am engaged, but I just don't know what was going through his mind. I hate creepy and sketchy situations like that. But it is now over! And tomorrow I will be starting a new job, in Watertown Public Health. Yay!!! | | |
| It has been a little while. First of all the most exciting news is that I bought a new car on Friday night. It is a 2007 Honda Fit. It is the sport edition and is red. I am so incredibly excited about it since as most of you know I have been driving around a boat (1985 Buick Regal) for the past couple of years and that is not as energy efficient as I have wanted. So so long to my Bandaid Buddy and hello to a tiny car, I am sooo excited! The other news, I am starting a new job! I have been working in an eco-toxicology lab the past 4 months where I run various tests on insects, but working there I realized that working in a lab was just not the right career for me. So I went on to pursue other fields of interest. And through a long process of interviews and lots of paper work I have landed myself a job as a public health inspector. I will be working for the town of Watertown and I will be inspecting restruants and various establishments to see if they are up to code. I am excited quite excited about this opportunity, this just opens so many doors down the road. So life has been quite good with the exception of killing innocent little insects. I feel this will be a season of change, begining a new journey in my life. New car, new job, oh and I am living in a new place with my aunt and uncle, and not too far down the road a new husband! Did I mention how wonderful James has been in this planning a wedding process, he has been just so supportive and actually cares about the decisions relating to the wedding. He said to me its not like we planning a party, this is actually our wedding, it's quite a big deal, and it's going to be done the way we want it. I just don;t think I can find the right words to say just how grateful I am for him. I just feel God blessings streaming in and I am so thankful for all He has done. | | |
| Well, it has been quite some time since I have last updated. There have been a few life-changing events that have occured in my life. First of all I got engaged! James being the romantic that he is took me up to Rockport to see the sunrise. I had a minor suspision he would purpose, but I decided to push it out of my head since we had various plans for the rest of the day. After an hour of driving and praying for safe traveling, we made it up to Rockport. We got there a half hour before the sunrise and the lobster boats leave the harbor to empty their pots. We scrambled out on the rocks and sat on a somewhat flat rock to see the sunrise. The sun rose and it was absolutely beautiful. Then James somehow got me to stand up to see the sun at a different angle, then all of a sudden he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and got all choked up. Wow, I was not anticipating such a wonderful purposal! It was perfect! Then the rest of the day we spent poking around Rockport and bumming around at Wingerseek beach. So bringing everyone up to present time, I am getting married! After six and half years of dating, I wll be married, this is so exciting!!! Another life changing event... I got a job. My first real job out of college! I am a biology lab technician at Springborn Smithers Laboratories in Wareham. I have been working there now for two weeks and am begining to settle in. I get to play with insects all day long and run tests on them. Right now I am currently culturing pink lady bugs, they are so cute! Who knew that I would actually end up working with bugs... after all the work with the sphingidae this past year. So, that is my life in a nutshell. I hope and pray for everyone that is taking classes, looking for jobs, and currently working, or whereever they are in their life that they are in peace with what they are doing! God bless! | | |
